8 Food Spots To Visit In Cambridge (UK)

Hello to my fellow foodies who love exploring places through their stomachs.

As someone who ADORES food (is adore a strong word?) and has an obsession (obsession is definitely a strong word but I don’t care) with trying out new places to eat, here I present you a few of my favourite places to have food in Cambridge.

For the most amazing burger this is the place to try. You can either find them at their own spot in the city centre (4 Wheeler Street, CB2 3QB) or at The Tivoli (16 Chesterton Rd, CB4 3AX). The bonus is that if you go to Tivoli you can also play some mini gold or shuffleboard.

Alternatively, you can find their food vans out and about.

I promise I have more to recommend than just burgers but for the best vegan burger you should try Gorilla & Lamb served at the Cambridge Blue. Bonus Points: Cambridge Blue is a very cute pub so it’s a win win!

Okay, so I’ve lived in an around Cambridge since 2019 and I know my food quite well and I make sure people know about it. Whenever someone asks me which my favourite restaurant in Cambridge is, I say Fancett’s. Hands down.

Fancett’s is a small bistro with a unique menu that changes every once in a while because their ingredients are carefully sourced. If you’re celebrating something or you just fancy a unique experience then please book a table here and you won’t regret it.

Ittou

For some beautiful and tasty ramen, or anything else that tickles your fancy then good luck finding Ittou which is a bit hidden away. Don’t worry it’s not THAT hard to find.

For some authentic Algerian cuisine and friendly service head to Al Casbah. I strongly recommend ordering the mezze. It’s worth mentioning that I used to detest aubergines and all it took was for me to visit this place.

Urban Larder

Okay, this is not technically a restaurant because it’s actually more of a coffee shop but I had to include it because it has the most amazing toasties. I’ve been there way too may times to count on one hand (or maybe two) and this is usually a good sign that their game is quite strong.

I tend to go for ‘The Big Cheesy’ because I just love cheese but there is a variety of other toasties to choose from. Also if you’re feeling like you want more, I recommend trying their banana bread if you get the chance!

The Chop House

For some serious Sunday Roast and amazing views of Kings College then the Chop House if your best bet. Plus it looks very fancy and you’re reminded that you are in Cambridge.

Bread & Meat

Have you ever wanted to try Poutine (famous Canadian dish) but a trip to Canada is not on your to-do any time soon? Then a trip to Bread & Meat could be what you were looking for.

I wish you an amazing foodie experience!
